A new method is proposed to calculate the interdiffusion coefficients using the raw concentration data obtained by EPMA, which is based on the graphical method of the Boltzmann–Matano equation. It calculates the areas and determines the Matano interface using the trapezoidal rule, and estimates the slopes using five-point differentiation formulae. Its biggest advantage is that the raw concentration data do not need smoothing or fitting, and can be directly applied in IDCRC.

We can prepare the diffusion couples including solid-solid and solid-liquid types. Raw materials can be powders or lump.
We can calculate the interdiffusion coefficient for any diffusion system.
